DRC emergency

In 2024, as a result of continuing insecurity and alarming resurgence of violence generated by non-state armed groups in the past two years, nearly 6 million people are internally displaced across the eastern provinces of Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, and Tanganyika. Conditions for displaced people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) are worsening daily as resources run dry, and many find themselves unable to satisfy their most urgent needs without humanitarian assistance.

• Over 522,000 refugees and asylum-seekers reside in the DRC
• Over 1 million DRC refugees and asylum-seekers reside in neighboring countries
