DI advocates for inclusive policies that promote social cohesion. Inclusive policies for displaced people, such as the right to work, freedom of movement, and access to social services, help them provide for themselves and their communities with dignity. Displaced people, like anyone else, want to be able to work and provide for their families.

DI advocates for inclusive and equal employment for displaced persons as one of their basic human rights. Indeed, the result of the right to work is the right to just and favorable work conditions. In other words, these two rights provide everyone, including displaced persons, equal access to decent work opportunities without discrimination and regardless of legal status and documentation. Displaced persons should enjoy full access to decent work, including: 

• The right to freedom of movement
• The right to form and join trade unions
• Recognition of previous qualifications
• Access to vocational and other training opportunities
• Access to social security benefits
• Effective remedies to enforce their rights

To end global displacement, DI advocates for conflict resolution and peacebuilding because they can: 

• Address root causes: Peacebuilding efforts can help identify and address the underlying causes of displacement. This can help prevent displacement from happening again and create more sustainable solutions. 
• Protect civilians: Peace missions can help protect civilians and prevent displacement. 
• Foster social cohesion: Peace efforts can help foster social cohesion. 
• Ensure justice and reconciliation: Peace efforts can help create conditions for justice and reconciliation. 
• Protect the rights of displaced people: Peace agreements should address the rights of displaced people, including women, young people, and minority groups. 

DI aims to work together with national and international organizations, including universities and think tanks, to further research on the global issue of displacement caused by conflict, climate change, extreme poverty, and lack of opportunity. In the meantime, DI organizes and co-organizes conferences, forums, and webinars to discuss displacement, sustainable solutions, and policies that address the underlying causes of displacement. In doing so, it gives priority to the participation of displaced individuals in these events, amplifying their voices and supporting solutions recommended by the displaced to address their challenges.
