Said Farooq Perzadah

Said Farooq Perzadah is a Fellow at Displaced International (DI) and a resilient Afghan entrepreneur whose lived experience of displacement has shaped his journey as a business leader and community advocate. Born and raised in Afghanistan, Farooq earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Delhi University in India and later completed an MBA at Kardan University in Kabul. His professional career spans public service and humanitarian development, including roles as Head of Northern Provincial Projects at the Ministry of Urban Development and Land, Consultant to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, and Senior Advisor to ARHO, a humanitarian NGO.

In 2013, Farooq founded USCO Groups of Companies in Kabul, leading ventures across diverse sectors. His rising success was interrupted by the fall of the Islamic Republic in 2021, forcing him to flee and rebuild in exile. Now based in London, he leads AA Shipping as Founder and General Director, demonstrating the potential of displaced entrepreneurs to thrive despite adversity. Farooq also serves on the Board of the Afghan British Business Network, a recognized think tank promoting economic cooperation and cultural exchange. Through his work, he continues to bridge communities and create impact across borders.
