Malika Qasimi

Malika Qasimi is a Fellow at Displaced International (DI). She is an experienced displaced entrepreneur and businesswoman with over 10 years of expertise in human rights, gender equality, management, and HRM & administration. She is committed to advancing human rights and gender equality with a focus on the economic empowerment of women and girls in displacement. She is the founder and owner of Elen Fashion LLC, a brand dedicated to promoting cultural heritage and empowering women through handcrafted clothing. Malika is skilled in policy development, capacity building, and program coordination. She has worked extensively in Afghanistan, holding significant positions such as Head of Gender and Human Rights at the Ministry of Higher Education, where she developed policies aimed at increasing the representation of women in civil service.

Additionally, Malika served as a legal trainer for the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) Project and worked as a gender and human rights specialist with the World Bank, focusing on gender mainstreaming, human rights strategies, and improving workplace environments for women. Her expertise includes advocating for gender equality, developing monitoring and evaluation tools, and supporting women’s empowerment initiatives. Malika has a Bachelor of Law from Kateb University and an advanced diploma from the Kabul University National Legal Training Center. She also participated in numerous women’s leadership development programs throughout her career. She is Fluent in English, Farsi, and Pashtu.
